Well the boys and I set up our tents Lookin' for a scare, haven't found one yet The night is young just waitin' for a chance The air grew cold and the branches cracked, A coyote howled and we chugged some Jack Drinkin' down at Skinwalker Ranch Well our guide was drunk with a beer in hand Turned into a lady instead of a man The cactuses they all began to dance I felt the hairs raise on my neck Blame it on the triple-sec Somethin's goin' down at Skinwalker Ranch Skinwalker, walkin' this way Please lord let me live to see another day Thought it was a joke but the jokes on me We'll see y'all in the next documentary. We didn't read the sign on the barbed wire fence Now we're doin' shots with the aliens They think they're funny stealin' all of our pants We heard the legend and all the lore Turns out E.T. is a fan of Coors Drinkin' down at Skinwalker Ranch I gave up my wits and picked up a beer Turns out I've been kissing deer The desert's full of strange romance Woke up in bed but I wasn't alone A lady wolf had followed me home Drinkin' down at Skinwalker Ranch Not as scared as they said I'd be Now a cursed woman's mackin' on me What an eerie circumstance Not the worst kiss that I've had Don't know how I'll introduce her to my dad Drinkin' down at Skinwalker Ranch Skinwalker, walkin' this way Please lord let me live to see another day Thought it was a joke but the jokes on me We'll see y'all in the next documentary. Skinwalker, walkin' this way Please lord let me live to see another day Thought it was a joke but the jokes on me We'll see y'all in the next documentary. We'll see y'all in the next documentary.

I’ve been working like a dog So I can live like a king Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her Rise when the morning bird sings Storm came through in the evening Put me right fast asleep Gonna need the extra shuteye Cause somebody's gotta go clear them trees Blizzards stir up in the winter Summer brings the blistering sun Weather doesn’t matter any time of the year Cause there's always work to be done I’ve been working like a dog So I can live like a king Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her Rise when the morning bird sings I’ve been working like a dog So I can live like a king Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her Rise when the morning bird sings Two steel toes with holes in the front Denim caked in dust and mud Everybody’s got a piece of blue collar in 'em Ain’t no one got a right to judge There’s a world out there full of different folks Just living for what makes them smile Working our tails and busting our backs Just to make this life worthwhile I’ve been working like a dog So I can live like a king Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her Rise when the morning bird sings I’ve been working like a dog So I can live like a king Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her Rise when the morning bird sings Some dig ditches And others lay stones Some work the bars Some keep a clean home Some play guitar Just to make life better Whatever makes you feel it Gotta get up and get er I’ve been working like a dog So I can live like a king Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her Rise when the morning bird sings I’ve been working like a dog So I can live like a king Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her Rise when the morning bird sings I’ve been working like a dog (Some dig dig ditches and others lay stones) So I can live like a king (Some work the bars, some keep a clean home) Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her (Some guitar just to make life better) Rise when the morning bird sings (Whatever makes ya feel it gotta get up and get her) I’ve been working like a dog Some dig dig ditches and others lay stones) So I can live like a king (Some work the bars some keep a clean home) Don’t know any better gotta get up and get her (Some write music just to make life better) Rise when the morning bird sings

I need to live my god I need to live Been taking so long, time to give what I can give Searching for joy like gold on a sieve I need to live My God I need to live We've been playing the bars for the last five years Sometimes the people dance others nobody's here Sometimes the night lights a fire in my soul Other nights I'm stuck digging deep in a hole The highs are like peaks, the lows like a grave The times they get hard when the bills need to be paid Got a girl back home that loves the songs that I sing Otherwise this guitar would be the death of me I need to live my god I need to live Been taking so long, time to give what I can give Searching for joy like gold on a sieve I need to live My God I need to live A good friend of mine just returned with a tale From Georgia to Maine, five months on that trail We toasted some Hamms and we tore up the town And he told me the stories, the ups, and the downs I looked at myself and the debts that I owe Thinking what it would take to leave it all and go And that’s when the thought occurred to me I’ve never known what it means to be free I need to live my god I need to live Been taking so long, time to give what I can give Searching for joy like gold on a sieve I need to live My God I need to live Watching the sun from the country line The road is wide open for the very first time Heading down the 44 and not stopping til I’m gone And no one will ever tell me I’m wrong I need to live my god I need to live Been taking so long, time to give what I can give Searching for joy like gold on a sieve I need to live My God I need to live Woah My God I need to live Woah

I can barely see the bartender Through my cigarette smoke that's burning white to gray My Manhattan’s still unmade Cause my tabs is still unpaid And it aint getting shorter by the day After stumbling back out in the sun It occurs to me that the sun is out I’ve got so many folks to see They make a dollar off of me What lucky folks to have me around The days they pass but never change My thoughts and I are riding different trains Til it comes back to me That’s the way that it will be Everyday in the life of a fool Big Ol Ronnie is my favorite, he pours me strong We've got this runnin' joke that his name is actually Jack But he never makes a show Cause we’re buddies don’t you know That’s what I love about him, good ol Pat. The cider is coldest at the Oak But the ladies love me down at the Bull (at least I think?) And when supper rolls around I head to Marv’s downtime Cause the popcorn’s free and I eat until I’m full The days they pass but never change My thoughts and I are riding different trains Til it comes back to me That’s the way that it will be Everyday in the life of a fool There's plenty of friends that say my living's rough Many think that I might just die But what do they all know Because my glass is always full Just lay me up a headstone where I lie The days they pass but never change My thoughts and I are riding different trains Til it comes back to me That’s the way that it will be Everyday in the life of a fool Til it comes back to me That’s the way that it will be Everyday in the life of a fool

The only man that you'll ever truly know Is the one hidden behind your eyes Even the ones that we love live on borrowed time Be kind, tell them no lies Never waste your breath on stubborn ears You'll drown in the ocean of those that won’t hear Each of us carries our own weight to bear Time moves quickly, it’s a passionate affair So long so fast But please understand It’s you and me And a world that’s just too big not to go see I know We wander and we roam And this is the end I’ll see you on the other side my friend There ain’t a single thing that we take when we depart A name is all we leave behind And it’ll never walk its way into your hands It’s out there for you to go find Only fools build towers in their name The stones know whose blood in which they are stained Only strong hands can fully build a wall The ones who hide behind it are crushed when they fall So long so fast But please understand It’s you and me And a world that’s just too big not to go see I know We wander and we roam And this is the end I’ll see you on the other side my friend I’ll see you on the other side my friend So long so fast But please understand It’s you and me And a world that’s just too big not to go see I know We wander and we roam And this is the end I’ll see you on the other side my friend I’ll see you on the other side my friend

My next failed-love song’s seated on leather at the end of a copper-top bar I can tell by the broken nails and messy hair she’s the kind I’m gonna take too far And I know by the scars on my weathered intuition we’re bound to be a flash in a pan I ain’t Nostradamus but I can see the future we got nine weeks, maybe ten Let’s go down and say that we tried We can drown, swept up in the tide Take a last-ditch trip to Louisiana like a broken-hearted Bonnie and Clyde And fill each other’s hearts full of bullet holes at the end of the ride All my boys say to spend a little time with myself but I ain’t too good of company Not compared to a silver blonde, tattooed mama with her thighs on either side of me And I pour one out on my wildfire heart before I go and light it again Just give me one reason and I’m yours for the night, the week, the month baby just say when Let’s go down like a white water river ride We can leave this town and all our friends behind Take a last-ditch trip to Louisiana like a broken-hearted Bonnie and Clyde And fill each other’s hearts full of bullet holes at the end of the ride Let’s light up this house again (Again) The bars, the bottles, the beauty and the bodies are the only thing I still can’t shake Many other ghosts have been laid to rest but it's the ladies that keep me awake And I’m guilty of getting into situations just to have a good story to tell Cause at the end of the day we all say thanks, goodbye, I wish you well (wish you well) Let’s go down and say that we tried We can drown, swept up in the tide Take a last-ditch trip down to Louisiana like a broken-hearted Bonnie and Clyde And fill each other’s hearts full of bullet holes at the end of the ride Let’s go down like a white water river ride We can leave this town and all our friends behind Take a last-ditch trip to Louisiana like a broken-hearted Bonnie and Clyde And fill each other’s hearts full of bullet holes at the end of the ride

about

Written, performed, and engineered almost entirely by Tom Frear and Clayton Ryan, "NOTHINS WRONG" was produced over the course of less than three months at the duo's grain-silo, hemp-crete studio in downtown Rapid City.

From fast nu-grass and seedy hot jazz to swanky swamp rock, Cottonwood Boys take you on an acoustic music road trip, with inspiration from the plains they come from and the mountains they now inhabit and everywhere in between. Inspired by artists such as Old Crow Medicine Show, The Devil Makes Three, and Sierra Ferrell, the album sits at home among Americana musicians that wish to break from the stale country mold.

In fact, they are too busy trying to sell a song or find a meal to really care but they'll hear you out.
